2027 Toyota Supra (Mk6) is about to redefine the Supra legacy with its self made powertrain and electrification. Current model Mk5 (A90) Supra uses BMW Z4 platform which will not be case in the 2027 Supra. Early rumors where not positive on the electric future but recent news have confirmed about hybridization for more efficiency and power.
Powertrain & Performance Specs

Biggest and most exciting change we are going to witness in 2027 Toyota Supra is replacement of BMW B58 inline-six engine with in-house produced 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder hybrid.
You might now think four cylinder is an downgrade but let me tell you that this is not ordinary engine. This 2.0L engine was conceptually unveiled in the 2024 which will outperform existing 2.4L and 3.0L engines.
Let’s talk about performance specs, this is an performance monster which will deliver around 400 horsepower. But when paired with an electric motor this will easily make upto 450–500 hp range.
Exterior Design & Platform
2027 Supra is going to be much more sharper and lighter than all of her previous models. Good part is the BMW CLAR platform will not detects its design now. You can expect 2027 Supra retaining its classic long-hood short-deck proportions with “Hammerhead” LED lights.
This car will be built on the Toyota’s TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture) or a dedicated EV/sport platform which will lower the center of gravity and reducing weight to occupy the hybrid battery weight.
Interior & Technology
MK5 was always criticized for the BMW-sourced interior (iDrive, buttons, switchgear) which was also not good thing honestly. but 2027 model is going to have native Toyota styling cockpit. Expect a driver centric with knee-pad and high-console design language from the GR Corolla and GR86 and use of premium material.
It will have latest Toyota Audio Multimedia system with AI voice assistant along with digital instrument cluster that prioritizes RPM and gear selection.
Estimated Release Date & Pricing
MK5 Current models production is ending in the first quarter of 2026 which will likely to debut 2027 Supra model with global launch event being held in mid 2026. Pricing is likely to increase due to hybrid setup, expect starting at ~$65,000 – $70,000 in the coming year.
