Harley-Davidson has confirmed the 2026 Sprint and the best part of this entry level motorcycle is that it will be priced under $6,000. This was announced by CEO Jochen Zeitz in Harley’s Q2 2025 earnings call.
What We Know About it?
- Price & Launch: The 2026 Harley Davidson Sprint is expected to be revealed fully in October 2025 and will be made publicly available for sale in 2026. This model will be much cheaper than Harley’s current cheapest model (the $9,999 Nightster) by nearly 40%. Also, let me tell you that the entry level companion cruiser is also in development.
- Heritage Inspiration: This nameplate revives Aermacchi-era Sprint line (1961–1974), originally co developed with the Italian manufacturer Aermacchi that produced 250cc–350cc bikes.
- Engineering & Profitability: Unlike Street 500/750 (discontinued in 2021), which was not profitable but this new 2026 Sprint is engineered with profit margin in mind. Zeitz emphasized, “How we’ve engineered this product, it will be profitable”
Why Harley Needs the Sprint to Succeed?
Harley’s core customer base is aging, and past small-displacement efforts struggled with profitability and identity. The Street 750, once touted as a “less intimidating” entry point, was abandoned in 2021 after failing to resonate with young buyers. Meanwhile, competitors like Royal Enfield (Classic 350, $4,500) and Honda (Rebel 500, $6,299) dominate the entry-level segmen
The Sprint targets Gen Z and international markets where affordability and smaller engines (likely 350cc–500cc) are critical. As Zeitz noted, “It’s the only area that really shows growth right now”. Harley aims to convert Sprint owners into lifelong customers who “climb the ladder” to premium models like the $46,000 CVO Street Glide.
