2027 Chevy Silverado Duramax is recently making headlines with spy shots, patent design leak and confirmation from the GM motors. However, we will need to wait for the official specs and features till official launch. Here’s what we know about it.

Duramax Powertrain Setup
All new 2027 Chevy Silverado Duramax is going to offer 3.0L inline-six Duramax turbodiesel which is likely to be same as of 2027 Silverado 1500. this will produce 305 horsepower and 495 lb-ft of torque with 10-speed automatic gearbox.
Towing capacity will remain 13,300 pounds with best in class 28 MPG highway fuel economy. We can expect its full reveal in late quarter of 2026 and deliveries by 2027s first quarter.
HD Models and Duramax
Prototypes of Silverado 2500HD/3500HD hints minimalistic exterior but new engine including rumored 8.3L Duramax V8 (“MegaMax”). These models are built to tow with 0-60 mph in 6.6 seconds and around 16 MPG mixed.
As per our trusted sources no major design is confirmed but they are working on enhancing diesel reliability and torque.
Design and Powertrain
Spy shots also mentioned here are matching exact patent design. showing refined grilles, taillights and options like 20-inch wheels for better aerodynamics and visibility.
Alongside Duramax, you can expect 7L V8 replacing the 5.3L and 2.7L TurboMax I4 (310 hp, 430 lb-ft).
Trims you can expect WT (~$40K) to High Country (>$65K).

GM has also expanded it’s Duramax factory which is a strong sign of they focusing on strong diesel trucks in 2027.
