Honda has unveiled its latest electric vehicles, the Zero Saloon and Zero SUV, marking a major step forward in the brand’s EV strategy. These vehicles aren’t just concepts—they’re set to enter production in Ohio with sales launching in North America next year.
Zero SUV: A Modern Crossover
The Zero SUV is based on last year’s Space Hub minivan concept but now reimagined as a sleek, midsize crossover.
It features a sharp slanted windshield, pixelated headlights, and an illuminated Honda logo. The rear design is boxy and quirky, offering a unique character. Inside, it boasts a high-tech dashboard with screen integration and side cameras in place of mirrors.
Zero Saloon: Futuristic Electric Sedan
The Zero Saloon is a low-slung, electric sedan with a sleek, futuristic design. Inspired by the Lamborghini Gallardo, it retains an edgy wedge shape with sliding headlamp covers and sharp rising windows.
The interior focuses on minimalism and technology, with a large dashboard screen, a Tesla-like yolk steering wheel, and ambient lighting. The wheel also moves out of the way for easy entry and exit.
Shared Features and Performance
Both vehicles share Honda’s new EV platform, co-developed with Sony. The lineup promises over 300 miles of range and offers both rear and all-wheel-drive options.
Honda’s Asimo operating system powers the cars, providing driver assistance, infotainment, and self-learning capabilities. Level 3 self-driving tech will be available, allowing hands-free driving where permitted.
Future of Honda’s EVs
Honda is also working to support its EVs with infrastructure, partnering with other automakers to roll out 30,000 charging stations by 2030. Smart charging features will allow users to charge during cheaper hours and even send energy back to the grid, saving money.
