2027 Jaguar F Type
There’s no 2027 model, as Jaguar officially discontinued the F-Type in 2024. The electric Type 01 due in 2027 will be the only performance GT the brand makes from then on.
If it’s the vintage F-Type you’re keen on though, your best approach is the pre-owned market. Final 2024 allotment are sold out at authorised dealerships. Good news, there are some nice late model F-Types available in the Mumbai area right now.
Currently, there are listings of well-maintained 2019 to 2021 models, such as the R-Dynamic P300 or the 5.0L V8 First Edition, in neighbourhoods such as Worli, Bandra West and Kandivali West. These lightly used coupes and convertibles are priced in the region of ₹68 Lakh to ₹1.11 Crore depending on the particular engine variant and mileage.
Meanwhile, the best approach to find an immaculate model locally is to set alerts on premium listing sites like CarWale or OLX before they get even harder to come by.
Jaguar Type 01
Jaguar is moving on from its gas-powered past with the reveal of the Jaguar Type 01, a hyper-luxury all-electric Grand Tourer that will arrive in the United States in the latter part of 2027. Starting at roughly $130,000, it’s a sign of the brand’s move to compete directly with high-end performance EVs like the Porsche Taycan and Mercedes-AMG GT.
- Performance and Specs The Type 01 will be the most powerful production Jaguar ever made, swapping out a screaming V8 for a huge electric motor.
- Powertrain: The car is equipped with a tri-motor AWD configuration, comprising one electric motor at the front and two at the back.
- Power Output: It pumps out in excess of 1,000 horsepower. Officially, its output is listed at about 1,015 to 1,016 hp.
- Acceleration: The Type 01 is predicted to go from zero to 62 mph in just 3.2 seconds.
Charging, range, and battery
The Type 01 is based on a dedicated 850-volt electrical architecture, built for long-distance touring and ultra-fast charging.
- Battery Capacity: It comes with a huge 118-kWh battery pack. Estimated Range Early estimates placed the range at over 300 miles on a full charge, with EPA targets of up to 400 miles.
- Fast Charging: The system supports up to 350 kW of DC fast charging to charge up the battery rapidly.
Dramatic, unconventional design
- The Type 01 is a large car, measuring 17 feet long, about the same as a Mercedes-Benz S-Class, but sitting 4 inches lower to the ground. It weighs almost the same as a full-size pickup truck.
- No back window: The most divisive exterior styling choice is the total absence of a back window, forcing the driver to depend on a digital camera system.
Lighting and Stance: Inside each headlamp are 20,000 HD projector LEDs, while the car is shod with giant 23-inch wheels to retain its vintage grand tourer proportions.
The cabin’s inside is simple with a 24-inch touchscreen in front of the driver and a smaller control device in the center console. A central spine runs the length of the cabin, with a front soundbar and 25 extra speakers for immersive music. Jaguar Type 01 production is set to commence in early 2027, with the first deliveries to US customers expected later in the year.
