General Motors officially concluded production of the Chevrolet Malibu in late 2024, closing the book on a six-decade lineage and making the 2025 model year its final commercial outing. As a result, there is no official production plan for an internal combustion 2028 Chevy Malibu.
The original gas-powered Kia Stinger concluded its production run after 2023, but its gran turismo ethos has spurred development toward a high-performance electric successor frequently projected for 2027–2028 (internally codenamed GT1 and widely expected as the Kia EV8).
