Welcome back Rogue lovers, today we are going to review 2025 Nissan Rogue which is available at massive discount of $10,000. So, Let’s get started.
Powertrain and Performance
I am impressed with 2025 Rogue Platinum ‘s 1.5L VC-Turbo 3-cylinder engine which produces around 201 horsepower and 225 lb-ft of torque. Great part of it is that it is available in both front-wheel and all-wheel drive.
Over 200 miles of driving, I averaged about 25 MPG—far below what hybrid competitors offer. Let me tell you that, the refreshed front end features daytime running lights on top and nighttime lights underneath. With this updates, I still think the Rogue remains one of the best-looking midsize crossovers in its segment.
When driving i felt decent torgue but power is lacking in this engine. The CVT transmission is responsive, but the power delivery feels inconsistent, peaking mid-range and tapering off. Compared to the Murano’s 2.0L turbocharged engine mated to a 9-speed automatic, the Rogue’s powertrain feels underwhelming. While the Rogue is slightly more fuel-efficient, it doesn’t make up for the lack of performance.
Exterior and Interior Features
The Rogue Platinum’s 19-inch wheels, chrome accents, and styling cues looks very similar to Infiniti QX60 or a shrunken Pathfinder. The rear features parking sensors and a dual-floor storage system, though the latter feels poorly designed and cumbersome to use.
Inside, the Platinum trim we get impressive quilted semi-aniline leather seats, sunshades, and a panoramic sunroof. The black interior on my test model does look cheap compared to the tan-and-black option which was available on previous Platinum models.
Lets move to Rear-seat, here we get heated outboard seats, USB-C ports, and reclining adjustments for added comfort. Unfortunately, smart key access for the rear doors is still missing which i feel disappointing at this price level.
Technology and Infotainment
The Rogue Platinum now features a big 12-inch customizable digital instrument cluster, a head-up display, and a 12-inch infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
What i felt was, The infotainment system is user-friendly, with physical climate control knobs and a volume knob within reach. However, I found it surprising that I couldn’t control the rear climate settings from the front, which could be a drawback for families.
The Platinum trim also includes a high-definition 360-degree camera system, which i feel a nice addition. While the audio system is average, the lack of auto-folding mirrors and ventilated seats feels like a miss for a vehicle priced near $50,000.
Driving Impressions
Lets talk about my driving test, i felt quiet and comfortable ride, with double-pane windows and minimal engine noise. However, the driving dynamics are average at best.
Compared to Kia Sportage & Honda CR-V the handling is not that great and major drawback is The brakes, unfortunately, lack initial responsiveness, requiring more pedal travel than expected before engaging effectively.
While the Rogue excels in comfort and noise isolation, its performance and fuel economy fall short. Competitors in this segment, particularly hybrids, offer significantly better efficiency and power.
Pricing and Value
To be honest to you guys, I feel 2025 Nissan Rogue Platinum is overpriced at $50,000. However, it is now on discount of upto $8,000 make a great choice.
That said, I’d recommend leasing over buying, as the Rogue’s powertrain feels more like a rental car setup. If you’re considering spending over $40,000, the Murano is a much better option, offering more power, luxury, and overall value.
Competition and Alternatives
Nissan’s own models like Murano and Pathfinder outshines the offerings of 2025 Nissan Rogue. I would prefer Murano’s 2.0L turbo engine and 9-speed automatic or Pathfinder’s three rows and a V6 engine at a similar price point. And if your are looking for budget friendly vehicle then Nissan Kicks come under $20,000.
Other than Nissan cars, cars like the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid, Honda CR-V Hybrid, and Kia Sportage Hybrid offer better fuel economy, more powerful hybrid powertrains, and similar or better features at comparable price points.
