2027 Toyota Supra – What we know so far

2027 Toyota Supra is my favourite performance and Japanese sports car for decade. This was first launched in the 1978 and has evolved so much from generations to generations till current powerful inline-six engine model.

End of the Current Supra Generation

Current fifth-generation GR Supra was co-developed with the BMW in 2019 will be discontinued after this 2027 model. Toyota has already confirmed that this model will end in the 2026 which will also end the partnership with BMW. It means 2027 model is going to be a completely new redesigned model in Toyota’s in house factory.

Hybrid Powertrain Expected

The 2027 Supra is expected to go with electrification while maintaining its high power output and performance. Most reports now suggest that it will have a turbocharged hybrid powertrain.

Possible configurations include:

  • 2.0-liter turbocharged hybrid four-cylinder
  • 400 horsepower

Also, few other speculations and reports suggest we can see hybrid six-cylinder or Lexus-derived powertrains. Though there are no final announcement and we need to wait for official announcement.

Design and Styling

Early reports suggest new 2027 Supra is going to have modern aerodynamics with styling inspired by the iconic Mk4 Supra (A80).

As per our trusted sources we are going to see Sharper LED headlights and aggressive front fascia along with wider rear stance. It will be lightweight and expected to have design inspired from the Gazoo Racing motorsports program.

Pricing

Official pricing is yet to be announced but as per our industry experts 2027 Toyota Supra could be priced at $50,000 – $70,000 in global markets. this price will vary according to your trim levels.

Release Date

Current reports now indicates timeline where 2026 GR Supra will end production in current year. then 2027 or sixth-generation Supra’s production will begin at 2027 and launch is expected in the 2028.
