Exterior Design
Before we check out the interior, let’s look at the exterior. The 2025 Prado boasts a bold and aggressive design that immediately grabs attention. The front features a massive grille with a parallel line pattern, flanked by sleek LED headlights, enhancing its commanding presence on the road.
The redesigned bumper and skid plate improve its off-road capabilities, while the sculpted hood adds to its muscular appearance. Notice the adaptive technology in the headlights for optimal visibility, ensuring safety in various driving conditions.
From the side, the 2025 Prado maintains a robust stance with high ground clearance and strong character lines. The pronounced wheel arches house impressive 20-inch alloy wheels, suitable for both city streets and rough terrains.
Versatility and Rear Features
The rear of the Prado continues the theme of rugged elegance with sleek LED tail lights that wrap around the corners. The tailgate opens wide, revealing a spacious cargo area, with a flat loading floor for convenience. Additionally, the rear back shield can open separately from the door, which is a great perk.
Toyota has enhanced the Prado’s suspension for a smoother ride on rough surfaces, while advanced safety features, including Toyota Safety Sense, ensure you’re always in good hands. Notable safety features include adaptive cruise control, lane departure alert, and automatic emergency braking.
Engine Specifications
Let’s pop the hood and check out the engine. The 2025 Prado is powered by a 2.4L 4-cylinder turbo gasoline engine, delivering 281 horsepower at 6,000 RPM and 430 Nm of torque at 1,700 to 3,600 RPM. This engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission with manual mode.
The Prado excels off-road with features like multi-terrain select, crawl control, and a robust four-wheel drive system, making it capable of handling various terrains, whether mud, sand, or rocky trails.
Interior Overview
Now, let’s check out the interior. You’re greeted with a four-spoke leather-covered steering wheel. On the left side are controls for the gauge cluster, while the right side manages cruise control and driving assists. The steering wheel is adjustable both in tilt and telescopic.
Gauge Cluster Features
The gauge cluster includes a tachometer, speedometer, gear indicator, and a digital speedometer. You can monitor fuel consumption and trip distance as well as switch between music sources. The adaptive cruise mode is an advanced feature that automatically stops and accelerates depending on traffic conditions.
Shifter and Drive Modes
The shifter resembles the Land Cruiser LC300 and comes with an 8-speed automatic transmission with manual mode. Engaging reverse brings up the rear backup camera alongside a 360-degree camera.
You’ll find familiar button structures and drive mode selections, including Sport, Comfort, and Eco modes. The multi-terrain system offers various settings for different driving conditions, enhancing its off-road capabilities.
Additional Interior Features
Inside, there’s a wireless charger, multiple USB ports, and an HDMI input for media devices. The air conditioning controls feature dual-zone climate control, allowing separate temperature settings for driver and passenger sides.
The unique air vents can be adjusted up, down, left, and right, while heated and cooled seats enhance comfort, making long drives more enjoyable.
Infotainment System
The infotainment system boasts a high-resolution navigation display. The audio system is decent but not as refined as the LC300’s JBL surround sound speakers. You can connect your phone via Bluetooth and access various vehicle settings, including navigation, audio, and climate control.
The system also supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, allowing for seamless integration of your mobile devices.
Rear Seat Comfort
In the back, you have the same quality leather inserts and good legroom. The rear features two cup holders and AC controls, including cooled seats. The Prado also comes with a built-in monitor for entertainment, allowing you to watch movies or music videos, making it ideal for family trips.
Third Row and Cargo Space
Accessing the third-row seats can be a challenge, especially for adults. However, the seats are suitable for children and can be folded down for more storage. With the seats folded, the cargo area can accommodate significant luggage, making it perfect for long journeys.
