The Electric Vehicle That’s Too Good for the U.S.

At Dal Motors, we’re always on the lookout for innovations in the automotive world, and the Lee Auto Mega is one of the most exciting EVs we’ve seen in a while. While this electric vehicle is not yet available in the U.S. (as Lee Auto doesn’t ship cars here), we couldn’t help but share our thoughts on this incredible ride. If it were to be available in the U.S., it’s clear this vehicle could change the game. Let’s take a deep dive into the Mega and explore why we think it could crush the competition.

A Futuristic and Practical Design

The Lee Auto Mega is a fully electric, three-row minivan that combines sleek, futuristic design with exceptional aerodynamics. With a real-world range of about 350 miles, the Mega is built to be as efficient as it is eye-catching. It also boasts one of the fastest charging systems on the market, claiming a 10-80% charge in just 10 minutes, though we haven’t had the opportunity to test it ourselves.

One of the first things you’ll notice is the striking Halo light bar at the front. This uninterrupted light source is a signature design feature of Lee Auto, making the Mega an instant head-turner in parking lots and on the road. The exterior design is clean, with smooth lines and an emphasis on functionality, featuring cameras and sensors for added aerodynamics and ease of use.

A Smooth Ride Like No Other

If there’s one feature that stands out, it’s the Magic Carpet air suspension. This system delivers an incredibly smooth ride, isolating passengers from the road in a way few other vehicles can match. In terms of comfort, it rivals the likes of the Rolls-Royce Spectre and Mybach. It’s a truly unique driving experience that emphasizes luxury and tranquility.

Interior Packed with Tech and Comfort

The Mega doesn’t just stop at great looks and performance—it’s packed with technology that makes it a perfect family vehicle. The driver’s seat is equipped with heated, ventilated, and massaging features, offering top-tier comfort. The interior features two 3K OLED touchscreens that are extremely responsive, though it’s worth noting that some of the software is in Chinese and the units are in kilometers, which might limit usability in regions outside of China.

While some features might not be fully functional in the U.S. due to region-specific software limitations, the tech here is undoubtedly impressive. One of the highlights is the HD camera system that supports Sentry mode, which helps you keep an eye on your vehicle when you’re not around. Additionally, the 21-speaker Dolby Atmos sound system delivers immersive sound, with advanced settings for audio customization.

A Family-Friendly Experience

Lee Auto’s focus on family is clear throughout the Mega. This EV offers seven seats, with spacious accommodations in the second and third rows. The second row seats are particularly impressive, offering executive-style comfort with massaging, heating, and cooling options, as well as calf rests. There’s even a fridge in the back to keep drinks cool—or warm if you prefer. The level of comfort is comparable to a luxury vehicle, making long trips more enjoyable for everyone.

In terms of technology, the Mega features a gesture-controlled entertainment system in the second row. Passengers can interact with the large OLED screen with simple hand gestures, even transferring content to the front display.

This advanced system keeps everyone entertained, even on the go. Plus, two more wireless chargers are conveniently located for second-row passengers.

A Comfortable Third Row

While third-row seating is often cramped in many vehicles, the Mega’s third row offers surprising space and comfort. Even with the second-row seats in place, there’s still ample legroom, making it a comfortable option for all passengers. The seats are heated, and USB-C ports are available for charging.

Nap Mode: Ultimate Comfort for Families on the Go

For families who need a little rest during long trips, the Mega offers a unique Nap Mode. With just two taps, the car’s seats recline, shades close, and soothing forest sounds play, creating the perfect environment for a nap. This is a truly innovative feature that turns the Mega into a mobile resting space, perfect for those moments when you need to recharge.

Pricing & Availability

Although the Lee Auto Mega isn’t currently available in the U.S., we estimate that if it were, the price would fall somewhere in the $60,000 to $80,000 range. For that price, you’d be getting a top-of-the-line electric vehicle with a perfect balance of luxury, tech, and family-friendly features.

For those who might not be fully sold on the all-electric experience, Lee Auto offers the L9—a hybrid version of the Mega. The L9 retains many of the same features and luxury touches but adds a gasoline engine used to recharge the battery while driving, offering peace of mind for those who prefer a hybrid powertrain.

The Bottom Line

The Lee Auto Mega is a standout vehicle that combines cutting-edge technology, luxury, and family-friendly features into one impressive package. While it’s not yet available in the U.S., we believe it would be a strong contender in the $80,000 range, offering everything from advanced suspension to state-of-the-art entertainment systems and exceptional comfort.

We’d love to hear your thoughts—if you had the chance to choose between the Mega and other electric vehicles like the Model X or Rivian R1S, which would you pick? Let us know in the comments.
