If you’ve been reading my in-depth coverage of the 2026 Hyundai Palisade, or if you’ve been monitoring other channels, you’re probably up to speed that the V6 is the only engine that is currently being produced and can easily be bought from local dealerships. That said, it should be mentioned that not all trim levels are being produced at present. Namely, the SC, CL, and Premium trims remain unsellable, so that if you are keen to get your hands on an all-new Palisade, your choices are somewhat limited.
In this post, I’ll be examining the most recent news concerning the hoped-for availability of the hybrid powertrain, which a number of you are keen to test drive and potentially buy. Additionally, I’ll provide updates about the other trim levels for both the hybrid and V6 configurations, as well as some essential details on color availability and production timelines.
Hybrid Powertrain and Trim Level Availability
The hybrid version of the Palisade has generated significant interest, and many are wondering when this powertrain will be available for purchase. As of August 11th week, some units across the country have changed their production status to the first phase of production. Although these vehicles are not yet fully manufactured, they are slated to be in production soon.
There is no official, confirmed date for hybrid production to begin, but going by the pace set so far, I am projecting to see production begin in the next month. At the end of this month or around early next month, we might see the initial batch of Palisade hybrids available for shipping.
Production Process and Shipping Schedules
Now, how long does it take for a car to go from production to available at dealerships? For the V6 Palisade, the normal process is around 6 to 7 weeks after the car is loaded onto a shipping vessel. This is the time it takes to unload at port, rail transport, and truck delivery to dealers.
This schedule can be adjusted, though, with quality checks, adding a week or two. So an 8-week time period from production to dealership delivery is a good estimate. Based on this, the Palisade Hybrid will probably not arrive at dealerships until November or even December, depending on delays in shipping and production.
Trim Level Production Status
When it comes to production status by trim level, there are a few important changes. Currently, none of the changes to the SE, CL, or higher trims exist in terms of production status. Nevertheless, I have found out that the V6 Premium trim has started making its way into production but in extremely small quantities.
Production levels on these trims, such as Premium, will be limited in the near future. If you’re looking at the Premium trim, it may be a bit longer before you find one on the dealer lot, but trust us, it’s a good value if you don’t mind a non-descriptor trim without compromising essential features.
Bench Seat and Seating Configuration
Another much-waited-for feature is the option for the eight-passenger configuration, especially for family use due to the need for extra seats. At first, Hyundai said that only the hybrid would have this bench seat option for the second row. But after the official price was out, it was discovered that the V6 also has this availability.
All the same, as of August 18th, not a single V6 Palisades with the bench seat has been assigned, so chances are if you’re holding out for this particular configuration, you’ll be waiting quite some time before it’s offered in V6 models.
This does not apply to the base SE model, which does feature the bench seat configuration standard. For those who are particularly interested in this feature, it may be worth contacting your local dealership to check availability or to request a future allocation.
Intriguingly, there are few hybrid Palisades that have been assigned the eight-passenger bench seat. Approximately 108 units among more than 6,000 hybrid Palisades have been assigned this setup, mostly in the Premium and SCL trims. If you’re interested in getting a hybrid Palisade with the bench seat, I highly suggest contacting your dealership to see about options to obtain one in the next allocations.
Availability of Colors and Numbers Produced
One that most buyers are concerned about is the availability of colors. For those seeking something less common than the regular black, white, or gray, the color distribution has been diverse. The color distribution for the 2026 Palisade is as follows:
- Black: Just over 3,200 units have been allocated, representing more than 50% of the vehicles produced thus far.
- Blue: Approximately 500 units.
- Cast Iron Brown: 167 units, which is a new exterior color.
- Galaxy Maroon: 234 units.
- Eotronic Gray: 674 units.
- Robust Emerald: 774 units. Note that this color is less available in V6 versions.
- Typhoon Silver: 250 units.
- Titan Charcoal: 331 units.
- Premium White: 1,739 units.
- Earthy Brass Matte: 172 units.
V6 Palisade Colors on Dealership Lots
As for what colors are available at dealerships right now, things are different from what’s in production or upcoming. The current inventory on lots at dealerships is:
- Black: Just under 2,400 units.
- Blue: Over 700 units.
- Cast Iron Brown: 83 units.
- Galaxy Maroon: 308 units.
- Eotronic Gray: 1,400 units.
- Robust Emerald: 61 units.
- Typhoon Silver: 367 units.
- Titan Charcoal: 289 units.
- Premium White: 2,900 units.
- Earthy Brass Matte: 268 units.
These are what is currently available and how much has already been allocated in pre-production. You can expect to see additional units as cars arrive at port and transit, but it’s obvious the most sought-after colors such as black, Eotronic gray, and white have more inventory.
Interior Color Distribution
As far as interior colors go, black is the most prevalent by far, and it accounts for more than 60% of the units on the lots at dealerships. Other interior colors are much rarer:
- Brown Interior: Less than 6% of the vehicles on the lots.
- Gray Navy: 1,700 units.
- Gray: 1,100 units across various trims.
If you’re looking for a non-black interior, your options will be more limited, but it’s still worth checking with the dealership to see if they can secure your preferred configuration.
