After discontinuation of iconic air-cooled platform in 2022 Harley CEO Artie Starrs has officially confirmed that there will be a return of 2027 Harley-Davidson Sportster.
Most significant leaked detail about 2027 Harley-Davidson Sportster return is the 883cc Evolution V-Twin engine. Many fans waiting for the revival of 1200cc variant but company has chosen 883cc to keep it entry level cruiser in their 2027 lineup.
With Air-cooled Evolution V-Twin engine its price is expected around $10,000 USD. Production for USA market will be done at York, Pennsylvania facility while for global market it will be done in the Thailand plant.
CEO Artie Starrs noted that the Sportster was the most requested model from both dealers and riders globally. The strategy shift marks a pivot from the high-premium, tech-heavy focus of recent years back to “blank canvas” motorcycles that encourage owner customization.
As per our trusted reports and teaser silhouettes, the 2027 Sportster is likely to retain its classic DNA with focus on a rider centric design. It will feature iconic narrow chassis and twin-shock rear suspension which were the best selling points for Iron 833.
Visually, it will give you vintage aesthetics with a two-up seat configuration and a low seat height which preserves the old ergonomics which made this platform a legend. This 2027 Sportster is positioned between Harley-Davidson Sprint (a 440cc single-cylinder arriving in late 2026) and the larger cruisers.
